Residential Interior Design: Creating Calm Sanctuaries
We design homes that function as a personal sanctuary, balancing modern aesthetics with the quiet comfort of a space that is truly lived-in.
Can a home be both rooted and modern? For the Max128 model apartment in Noida, we blended contemporary forms with traditional Indian patterns and textures. The result is a living space that feels both globally sophisticated and deeply personal.
An open-plan design connects the dining and living areas, creating a sense of spaciousness and flow. We used a consistent palette of warm woods and neutral fabrics, with patterned dining chairs adding a layer of visual interest to this modern Indian home.
We love blurring the line between indoors and outdoors. This expansive deck at the Max128 apartment uses natural brick and comfortable outdoor furniture to create a true extension of the living space, perfect for enjoying a quiet morning or hosting friends.
This video showcases the details of the Max128 apartment, from the texture of the upholstery to the curated decor on the deck. Each element was chosen to contribute to an atmosphere of 'slow living' within a bustling city.
We were honored to see our Max128 model apartment featured on the cover of GoodHomes magazine. This project embodies our belief in creating urban retreats where modern life can pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters.

In this Vasant Vihar residence, the dining area is anchored by a monumental piece of art. The design is intentionally minimalist to allow the artwork to command the space, creating a gallery-like experience for everyday dining.
The living area of the Vasant Vihar home is a study in texture and form. A curved wooden ceiling element contrasts with the clean lines of the furniture, while a vibrant blue sofa adds a pop of color to the otherwise neutral palette.
The basement family den was designed as a cozy, intimate retreat. We used darker tones, plush sofas, and soft lighting to create a perfect environment for movie nights and quiet relaxation, with a sunken courtyard bringing in a surprising amount of natural light.
A closer look at the dining space, where the large circular artwork creates a powerful focal point. The simple, elegant furniture and soft lighting ensure that the focus remains on art, food, and conversation.
About Lived-In Luxury: Residential Sanctuaries
We begin by mapping your daily rituals rather than just your floor plan. Whether you are planning an open-plan living room or a quiet bedroom retreat, our focus remains on layering natural light, tactile materials, and your personal art collection to ensure the space feels deeply yours rather than staged.
Design in a residential context is an exercise in listening. At Studio IAAD, we believe a home should act as an emotional center, providing a break from the rush of city life. Our approach to creating lived-in luxury relies on three core pillars: spatial flow, material honesty, and the integration of your personal story.
Why Materiality Matters
We prioritize materials that breathe. In our residential projects, you will often find natural stone, warm woods, and textured fabrics. We avoid over-polishing surfaces. Instead, we select finishes that age gracefully, developing a patina that tells your family's story over time. This is part of our commitment to sustainable interior design, where healthy, natural choices enhance your long-term wellbeing.
Art as a Design Driver
Many of our projects, such as the Vasant Vihar residence, are conceptualized around art. We do not treat paintings or sculptures as afterthoughts. In many cases, we reverse-engineer the color palette and lighting of a room to complement a specific piece of art, making the furniture and structural elements feel like a natural frame for your collection.
Lighting and Spatial Logic
Layered lighting is the difference between a house and a home. We use a mix of ambient, task, and accent lighting to shape the mood of a space. By utilizing open-plan layouts in dining and living areas, we ensure that while spaces remain connected, they retain their individual personalities. Whether it is an expansive deck that invites the outdoors in or a cozy family den in the basement, our goal is to create areas that adapt to how you actually live.
