We transformed the dining experience at Elina Vara by blending a farm-to-fork philosophy with biophilic architecture, creating a garden-like space that feels alive.

The main dining area is bright and airy, with tall plants and light wood paneling creating a garden-like feel. The arrangement of tables encourages both intimate and group dining, set against a backdrop of serene greenery.

I used a combination of seating styles, including this plush green banquette and natural rattan chairs. The custom-printed cushions add a touch of botanical art, reinforcing the overall nature-inspired theme of the restaurant interior.

This view showcases the interplay of textures, from the polished terrazzo floor to the fluted white columns and warm wood furniture. Hanging plants and large potted greenery are placed throughout to ensure nature is felt in every corner.

This quiet seating nook features dark wood rattan chairs against a backdrop of sheer white curtains, creating a soft, diffused light. It’s an intimate corner perfect for conversation, combining classic materials with modern comfort.

The bar area is highlighted by a beautiful tropical leaf wallpaper, adding depth and a focal point to the space. The use of natural wood for the bar top and rattan for the stools continues the cohesive, earthy material palette.

About Hospitality Design: Elina Vara Biophilic Brasserie

When designing Elina Vara, we focused on more than just visual appeal; we integrated live greenery with durable, tactile materials like rattan and stone to ensure the space remains vibrant under heavy daily use. We balanced acoustic comfort with an open, airy layout to maintain a tranquil, garden-like atmosphere even when the restaurant is fully occupied.

Hospitality design requires balancing the aesthetic impact of a brand with the relentless wear and tear of a working restaurant. At Elina Vara, the goal was to craft a biophilic haven that feels like a natural extension of the menu. We avoided fragile finishes in high-traffic zones, opting for heavy-duty commercial terrazzo and powder-coated metal framing that mimics natural wood without the high maintenance requirements.

The lighting design utilizes warm, recessed downlights alongside linear profiles, ensuring the space feels inviting during lunch service and intimate at dinner. For restaurant owners, the key is effective zoning. We planned the floor to separate the high-energy main dining area from quieter, more secluded seating nooks. This layout ensures that guests have options, whether they are here for a quick business meeting or a long, leisurely meal. By prioritizing natural textures, we achieved a look that remains sophisticated and avoids feeling like a passing trend, ensuring the restaurant ages well alongside its evolving menu.
