Creative Studio Workspace Design
We designed our workspace to feel like a home. It is where our concepts take root, blending professional needs with a warm, living environment.
The main collaboration area in our studio, centered around a solid wood table and industrial pendant lights. The gallery wall behind features a collection of images that inspire our work, making this a hub for brainstorming and creative development.
A view from one workspace into a cozy seating area, showing how we create distinct yet connected zones. The mix of a plush sofa, a classic wooden armchair, and sheer curtains creates a soft, inviting atmosphere for informal meetings or quiet reflection.
A peek into our main workspace from the entrance, with the "Purple Backyard" name marking the threshold. This view shows the open and layered nature of our studio design, encouraging a sense of flow and transparency within the team.
A detail of one of the workstations in our studio. We used a combination of natural wood tones, including a slatted credenza and open shelving, to bring warmth and texture to the space, ensuring even functional areas feel thoughtfully designed.
This is our material pantry and storage area, where we keep samples and project essentials organized. We used simple, clean lines with black cabinetry and a light wood backsplash to create a functional zone that remains consistent with the studio's overall aesthetic.
About Our Studio: The Purple Backyard Ghar
We don't just fill a room with furniture. Our studio uses specific storage solutions like slatted credenzas and open shelving to manage our samples and archives, ensuring the space stays organized without feeling like a sterile storage closet. This balance of hidden functionality and open display is exactly how we approach our client workspaces.
When designing a commercial space, we believe the biggest mistake is making it feel like a standard office. Our studio acts as a living proof of our philosophy: that a workspace can be highly productive while still feeling like a ghar (home). We focus on transitional design, mixing industrial elements like exposed pendant lighting with soft, residential touches to create a sense of calm.
We prioritize zoning to separate high-energy collaboration areas from deep-focus zones. This is achieved through clever spatial planning and the use of natural materials such as solid wood and textured veneers. By collaborating closely with Mumbai karigars (artisans), we ensure every custom piece of furniture—like our central brainstorming table—has a unique character that mass-produced modular units simply cannot match.
Whether we are designing a retail studio or a corporate office, our process starts with the story of the brand. We move away from rigid, uniform layouts and instead build environments that encourage movement, transparency, and creativity. We use a palette of warm tones and natural textures to ensure the space is fully lived-in from the moment it is handed over. If you are looking to move away from stiff office interiors and want a professional space that breathes, our approach provides the right blend of function and soul.
