Giving specific tips to a young leg-spinner. I noticed his run-up was too straight, which is good for topspin but limits his leg-break. I advised a more angular run-up to help him get more turn. Small adjustments make a big difference.
A young batsman practices his sweep shot using a batting tee. This drill helps in perfecting body position, balance, and shot execution without the pressure of a moving ball, building muscle memory for match situations.
Fielding can win you matches. Here, I am personally demonstrating the correct technique for diving to a player. It's about getting the hand position right and committing to the ball without hesitation. Bahut badhiya!
A coach explains the importance of presence of mind in 30-yard fielding. It's not just about stopping the ball, but also making the right decision instantly, like knowing which end to throw to. We drill these game-awareness skills repeatedly.
Close-in catching practice is crucial for developing sharp reflexes. Here, players are working on their reaction time and catching technique, preparing them for situations around the batsman.
A young batsman works on his forward defensive shot with cone markers to guide his footwork. Mastering the basics of getting your foot to the pitch of the ball is the foundation of a solid batting technique.

About Skill Development: Batting, Bowling & Fielding
Technique is only half the battle; the rest is mindset. Whether it is correcting your spin bowling angle to get more turn or fixing your batting stance to attack rather than just defend, we focus on the small, high-impact changes. I personally look for these gaps in your biomechanics and match simulations, so you are not just practicing—you are actually getting better every single session.
Why Skill Development Matters
Cricket is a game of fine margins. At PS Sports Academy, we do not believe in generic drills. My coaching philosophy, shaped by my years at the highest level, is to build a player who thinks for themselves.
Batting with Intent Forget 'wicket bachao' (save your wicket). In modern cricket, you need to score. We use tee-drills to build muscle memory and cone markers to ensure your footwork is precise. You are not just standing there; you are learning to pick the length early, balance your weight, and rotate the strike.
Bowling with Aggression I am a fast bowler, so I teach you how to bowl with actual intent. It is not just about speed; it is about control and accuracy. We analyze your run-up—whether it is too straight or perfectly angular—and use video analysis to fix your delivery stride. You learn to build pressure on the batsman, not just bowl balls.
Sharp Fielding A match is often won in the field. We drill 'presence of mind' into our players. It is about knowing which end to throw to, how to dive without getting injured, and maintaining focus inside the 30-yard circle. We turn simple catching practice into high-intensity game scenarios because training should feel like the match itself.
