About Competitive Match Experience
Nets provide the technique, but matches provide the temperament. Here at PS Sports Academy, our regular PS Cup tournaments and inter-academy matches force you to think on your feet, handle scoreboard pressure, and execute skills when it matters most.
Cricket training is incomplete if you don't learn how to play under pressure. That is why we moved beyond simple nets practice to build a full ecosystem of competitive cricket in Jaipur.
The PS Cup & Internal League We organize the PS Cup for various age groups, including U-13, U-14, and U-17. These aren't just practice games. We set up tournaments with structured points tables, finals, and awards ceremonies, exactly like a professional tournament. This helps young players get comfortable with scoreboard pressure and team responsibilities.
Exposure Beyond Academy Walls To grow, you need to play against different teams in unfamiliar conditions. We regularly host and visit academies like the District Cricket Association of Sultanpur for Test matches and T20 series. This is where players learn to adapt. A bowler learns to use the breeze on a new ground, and a batter learns to read a spin-friendly pitch that is not their home turf.
Coaching Mindset My coaching philosophy remains the same during these matches: 'Run banao' (make runs). I encourage my students to play aggressive, modern cricket. When I watch them in these match simulations, I look for consistency and temperament. Are they losing their wicket early? Are they bowling with that essential aggression? If you want to be a cricketer, you have to be ready for the match, not just the practice session.
