About The Pre-Pleated & Folded Collection
I don't just fold your sarees; I structure them. By measuring your height from waist to floor, I pre-set the pleats so they hit exactly at your ankle, and use industrial steam setting to ensure those creases hold firm through hours of dancing or movement. Whether it’s a heavy silk Paithani or a standard 6-yard drape, the goal is to make your wardrobe travel-ready and zero-effort.
Why Pre-Pleating Changes Everything
Getting ready for a wedding or a festival should be about the excitement, not the stress of managing 6 or 9 yards of fabric. My pre-pleating service is designed to solve the two biggest pain points: time and consistency.
The Process When you bring your saree to my studio, I don't just fold it. I prepare it for wear.
- Height Calibration: I measure from your waist to the floor to ensure the bottom pleats are perfectly aligned so you aren't tripping or catching the fabric.
- Steam Setting: I use industrial steam ironing to permanently set the creases for 2 to 3 wears, meaning your pleats stay sharp even if you're dancing all night.
- Strategic Pinning: I place 3 to 4 hidden, rust-proof safety pins to maintain the structure of your pallu and waist, so you don't have to fiddle with placement.
Fabric Safety & Storage I understand that silk sarees, especially Paithanis and Kanjeevarams, are investments. My process for these includes low-heat, high-pressure pressing that prevents fabric shine and damage. I use butter paper inserts between Zari folds to prevent oxidation and friction damage, ensuring your heirloom pieces stay safe while stored.
Each saree is then folded into a 12x15 inch rectangular box, making it incredibly easy to pack for destination weddings or carry in your luggage without worrying about wrinkles. Whether you need a standard drape, a Maharani style, or a complex Nauvari set, I ensure your saree arrives as crisp as it left my studio.
