I transform raw Indian crystals and epoxy into fluid, textured geode art for your walls. Every piece begins with a sketch and ends with a layer-by-layer story of depth, shimmer, and light.

This large, ocean-inspired geode table is a perfect example of how I build my pieces layer by layer. There's no clear right or wrong in art, only the choice to keep going. This piece required patience and trust in the process to achieve the final stunning result.

Every geode artwork starts with a simple sketch in black and white. This allows me and the client to focus on the form and balance before getting into color. This video shows how that initial design is the foundation for the entire multi-layered creation.

From paper to board, this is where a geode sketch starts to feel real. Once the design is approved, I transfer the life-sized image onto the board. This is a crucial step before the crystals are placed and the first layer of resin is poured.

The heart of every geode is its crystals. I hand-pick each one from across India to match the theme and energy of the piece. Using real crystals brings not just beauty, but a unique story and positive energy into your home.

The first pour is where the transformation begins. After the crystals are placed and the client is happy with the layout, I pour the first layer of resin. It’s an exciting and messy step that sets the stage for all the detail and depth to come.

Here's the ugly truth: the first layer of resin often looks messy and incomplete. That's a normal part of the process! From here, we clean it up, add details, and build layer upon layer to shape it into the beautiful geode you've been dreaming about.

One of my biggest challenges is matching the perfect gold pen or paint to the shades in the artwork. In this video, I share a little "jugaad" or hack I use to get the gold lines just right. You can learn more tips like this in my geode workshops.

Want to know the secret to that perfect gold shimmer in my art? This video shows the different types of gold I use, from delicate gold leaf to rich metallic pigments. Comment 'Gold' on my original post, and I'll send you the details.

Resin art is more than just pouring. This video shows a wild technique of burning gold to create a unique effect on the crystals. There are over a thousand hidden steps to turn resin into art, and this is just one of them.

This video shows the complete process of making a geode-inspired resin art piece, from the initial concept to the final, shimmering artwork. It’s a journey of layering, patience, and trusting the creative process.

About Geode-Inspired Art: Layers of Crystal & Shine

The biggest challenge with geode art is often the first layer, which rarely looks right immediately. I teach my students that the first pour is essentially the foundation, not the final look. We build the shimmer, depth, and the signature crystal edges through sequential layers, using techniques like heat gun manipulation and precise metallic blending to get that final, luxurious finish.

Creating geode art is a dance between patience and precision. It is not just about mixing epoxy and pigment, but about structural design. My process always starts on paper. Before a single drop of resin touches the board, we define the flow, the negative space, and where the heavy crystal clustering will happen.

The crystals themselves are the soul of the piece. I source raw crystals from across India, looking for specific textures that catch light differently. Once the sketch is transferred, we start the messy middle. The first resin pour is rarely the star of the show. It is the base layer that holds the structure. The magic happens in the detail work, using heat to pull gold leaf into fluid lines, adjusting the viscosity for that 3D lift, and carefully placing individual crystals to mimic natural rock formations.

I do not believe in gatekeeping. Whether you want a custom geode mirror for your entryway or you are attending one of my workshops to learn these techniques yourself, I show you the jugads that make a piece look high-end rather than hobby-level. We talk about finding the right resin consistency, how to avoid bubbles, and the specific equipment, like Dremels and torches, that turn a flat board into a piece with genuine depth and energy. If you are looking to bring a bit of natural luxury into your space, let us talk about your vision.

I am Poonam, and I run my studio from Andheri West.
