Professional Cat Photography at Home
I do not force poses because cats do not do requests. We work in the comfort of your home, at their pace, capturing their real, quirky, and regal personalities without the stress of a studio.
A collage from a viral engagement shoot starring Toffee, the orange tabby cat. From kisses with his humans to a close-up of his paws on their hands, this session perfectly captured his central role in their love story.
"Nine lives... and she chose to spend them with us." This is Zelda, the matriarch of her clowder. Found on the street, she is now a beautiful and elegant (and very naughty) member of the family. This portrait captures her regal nature.
Meet Tofu, the smallest, cutest, and naughtiest of his trio. This black and white action shot captures him mid-pounce, a perfect representation of his boundless kitten energy.
This is Whiskey, the calm within the storm of her two playful siblings. This portrait, framed by green leaves, captures her gentle, princess-like soul. She's a master of finding peace and just existing beautifully.
We got featured in People Magazine! This screenshot shows the article about Rhea and Denzyl's save-the-date photos with their fur baby, Toffee. It was a "pinch me" moment for sure.
Another screenshot from the People Magazine feature, highlighting my excitement about including a cat in an engagement shoot. It's always a pleasure to celebrate the entire family.
A screenshot from the People Magazine article, showing the adorable shot of the couple's hands over Toffee's belly, with his little paws on top. It's all in the details!
About this collection
Here is the honest truth about shooting cats: it requires a mountain of patience and even more treats. I never force a shot. If your cat wants to hide, sleep, or zoom across the room, we wait. We adjust lighting and move furniture until they feel safe enough to just be themselves. It is rarely a perfect, clean process, but that is exactly how we get those candid, soulful portraits that look like real life rather than a staged studio ad.
Why Cats Hate Studios (And Why I Go to You)
Most cats are territorial, and dragging them to a strange studio with loud lights and unfamiliar smells is a recipe for a terrified, hidden cat. My sessions take place at your home. Your cat is already the owner of this space, which immediately lowers their anxiety levels. Whether it is a regal senior who prefers to snooze on the windowsill or a chaotic kitten bouncing off the curtains, being on home turf allows them to show their true colors.
The 'Bribery' Method
I am not ashamed to admit that treats are a core part of my equipment. We use bribery to get those engaged, curious looks. If your cat is motivated by salmon treats, chicken bits, or a specific feather wand, we make that happen. This is how we get the magic: we let them play, we let them eat, and we capture them in between the action. You will see in my gallery that the best photos often involve a cat mid-pounce or curiously sniffing a ring—those are not posed, they are caught.
Handling 'Naughty' Personalities
I have worked with shy rescues, feisty tabbies, and everything in between. If your cat is 'naughty,' that is a personality, not a problem. My goal is to capture the relationship you have with them. Are they the calm princess who avoids the chaos? Or are they the little engine of destruction? I tailor the session to their energy. We don’t rush. If we need to take twenty minutes for them to just sniff my camera bag and decide I am not a threat, that is exactly what we will do.

Hi, I am Prathima. Cats are not just pets to me; they are moody, regal little roommates who absolutely run the show. I love the challenge of earning their trust, whether I am bribing them with treats or just waiting quietly for them to decide I am okay to be around.
