We aren't a shelter with a physical facility. Instead, we collaborate directly with partners like Charlie’s Animal Rescue Centre to bring shelter puppies into neutral spaces like yoga studios and pickleball courts. This setup serves two purposes: raising essential funds for their medical care and giving you a low-pressure environment to interact with these animals, which helps potential adopters overcome initial hesitations and form genuine connections.
More Than Just Puppy Yoga
When we started in 2020, we wanted to do things differently. The traditional adoption process can feel intimidating. By creating these 'experience-based' events, we let the puppies show their true personalities outside of a kennel. Whether it is through a yoga session, an art workshop, or a pickleball match, these moments are designed to de-stress both the animals and the humans.
The Reality of Our Work
We know it is confusing when you see us with so many puppies. Sometimes, we get messages asking if we can take in stray dogs found on the street. While we wish we had the space to act as a full-scale shelter, our current capacity is focused on advocacy, fundraising, and acting as a conduit for adoption. Every puppy you see at our events is a rescue from one of our partner shelters, and every single one of them is up for free adoption.
Why We Share These Moments
We share these candid, unscripted moments because they tell the truth about animal welfare. Yes, it involves playful puppies chasing bowls, but it also involves us having tough conversations about streeties, animal rights, and the cruelty we see daily.
We are here to show that you do not need to be an expert dog handler to make a difference. Even if you are someone who loves animals but feels a little anxious around them, our events are safe spaces. The wagging tails and gentle nature of these rescues usually win people over, and that connection is exactly what we are trying to foster.
