We believe our responsibility extends far beyond hosting events. Here is where we stand on animal rights, stray welfare, and the critical issues affecting our streeties.

Are we really free if the cost is animal cruelty? This image of two street dogs on a beach challenges us to think about the meaning of freedom for all beings on Independence Day.

Dogs don't need our pity, they need our respect. This post reframes the conversation around street dogs, urging people to see them as neighbours, not problems.

What would our world look like without street dogs? This series of posts imagines a quieter, but lonelier and colder, city, highlighting the warmth and life that street dogs bring to our communities.

A world without the wild, warm presence of street dogs would feel empty. We reflect on the silent companionship these animals provide in our daily lives.

No muddy paws, no wagging tails, just silence. We paint a picture of what we would lose if street dogs disappeared from our neighborhoods.

Street dogs are a part of our history and our community. They are the watchers of our lanes and our childhood companions, and a city without them is a city without a soul.

We break down the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding the relocation of stray dogs in Delhi, questioning if this was the only and best solution to the perceived problem.

We highlight the immense pressure on animal shelters, which are often underfunded and understaffed. The court's ruling to relocate strays adds an unsustainable burden to these organizations.

We propose alternative solutions that could have been considered, such as better vaccination and birth control programs, promoting adoption, and funding shelters to do their jobs effectively.

We champion the role of "streeties" as territorial protectors who provide a sense of security in our neighborhoods, a valuable contribution the Supreme Court's ruling overlooks.

About Our Voice: Advocacy & Awareness

The posts you see here aren't just opinions; they are our frontline response to policy changes, like the recent Supreme Court rulings on stray dog relocation, that directly impact the animals in our neighborhoods. We don't just host events to feel good, we use our platform to fight for the rights of animals, challenge the logic of local authorities, and provide you with actionable steps to protect the dogs you see on your street every day.

Beyond the Mats

While we love a good puppy yoga session, we know that social enterprise is about more than just fun. Our advocacy work is the backbone of Pawga. We refuse to stay silent when we see policies that threaten the safety or dignity of street animals.

Where We Stand

  • Rights of Streeties: We advocate for the idea that street dogs are not public nuisances but community members. They provide security, companionship, and a sense of history to our lanes. A city without them is not a cleaner city, it is a lonelier one.
  • Legal & Policy Challenges: When the Supreme Court issues rulings on stray population management, we read between the lines. We analyze what 'relocation' actually means, question vague terms like 'aggressive' that can be misused, and push for humane alternatives like better vaccination and birth control programs.
  • Banning Cruelty: We speak up against illegal breeding practices and animal cruelty. If a law is unjust or a policy is implemented without considering the practical reality of our shelters, we talk about it.

How You Can Help

We are only as loud as our community. Advocacy is a collective effort. Whether it is signing a petition, donating to a local shelter, or simply choosing to adopt an indie rather than buying from a breeder, your actions matter. Read our latest thoughts, stay informed, and join us in showing up for the voiceless. If you have questions about a specific policy or want to know how to help a dog in your area, reach out. Let’s make some noise together.

We are a group of women who got tired of just watching from the sidelines. We started Pawga to bridge the gap between people and the street dogs who actually call our neighborhoods home. We'll be the first to call out cruelty and the first to advocate for a more compassionate city.
