Authentic Festival Decor for Your Home
Bring the warmth and spirit of traditional festivals into your living room. From Onam pookalams to Diwali floral corners, I blend cultural authenticity with artful design to make your home celebration feel truly yours.
This video showcases a variety of decor setups perfect for festivals like Onam. It includes traditional brass lamps, urlis filled with flowers, long dining tables decorated with simple floral centerpieces, and hanging marigold backdrops.
An elegant corner setup designed for a Diwali celebration. I used traditional elements like brass urlis and Kerala-style deepams, filled with fresh flowers and surrounded by banana plants, to create a warm, inviting, and festive atmosphere in the home.
About Festival Decor
It is not just about throwing up some marigolds. I source fresh flowers and pair them with authentic brass accents like kuthu vilakku lamps and traditional urlis to ensure the setup creates an atmosphere, rather than just acting as a temporary backdrop.
When I design for a festival, I am thinking about how the space will feel when your family gathers. My approach moves away from generic, plastic-heavy decor that you see in typical rentals. Instead, I focus on natural materials—fresh mango leaves, real banana plants, and locally sourced flowers—to bring an authentic festive energy into your home.
How I Approach Festival Decor
Whether you are planning a traditional Onam celebration or a vibrant Diwali gathering, the goal is to respect the ritual while making it look beautiful.
- For Onam: I focus on the Pookalam and the classic Kerala aesthetic. I use brass urli bowls filled with water and floating petals, arranged alongside traditional brass lamps to create that specific, warm Kerala vibe right in your living room.
- For Diwali: My focus shifts to light and color. I combine marigold runners with diyas and banana plant installations to frame your entrance or puja space, making it look polished but still homely.
Practical Details
I know that festival days are busy. My service is entirely end-to-end. I bring the structure, the flowers, the brassware, and the lighting kits, and my team handles the entire setup and cleanup. You do not need to worry about sourcing the flowers or arranging the lamps. Because I build custom props and backdrops, we can fit a full festive setup into spaces as small as a standard living room or as large as a garden porch. If you have a specific heirloom item, like a brass lamp passed down in your family, I am happy to incorporate it into the design to make the day even more personal.
