Nature and Symbolic Paper-Cut Art
Hand-cut paper art inspired by nature and meaningful symbols. These delicate designs are framed in clear acrylic to create a floating, modern look for your space.
Here is my finished lotus design, all framed and ready to go. I chose a clear acrylic frame for this one because it gives the paper-cut a beautiful floating effect. The lotus is such a peaceful and symmetrical symbol to work on.
A different view of the framed lotus paper-cut. You can see how the acrylic stand works, making it perfect for a desk or a shelf. The light catching the edges of the cut is my favorite part.
This is what the lotus design looks like right after I've finished cutting and before it goes into a frame. You can see all the delicate connections on my cutting mat. The empty spaces are just as important as the lines I leave behind.
About Nature & Symbolic Art
I use clear bent-acrylic stands for these nature-themed pieces to create a floating effect. Because there is no backing board, light passes through the negative space I have cut, which looks lovely on a desk or a console table.
The nature series is all about finding calm in the details. When I work on a lotus or floral mandala, I am not just cutting paper. I am finding symmetry in the empty spaces. My process starts with a single sheet of 200 GSM archival-grade matte paper. I use a precision craft knife to slowly remove the negative space, leaving behind delicate, intricate lines. It requires immense patience because one slip means starting over, but the final piece feels special.
These designs are protected in an A5 size clear acrylic frame, which is great for tabletops or office desks. Unlike traditional wall art, this floating display lets you appreciate the depth of the cuts from both sides. If you have a specific symbol that means something to you, or you just want a bit of nature in your workspace, let me know. I love creating pieces that feel personal and light.
