About Puppy Preschool: Building a Strong Foundation
Real training isn't about teaching tricks; it’s about establishing a rhythm. In our puppy program, I don't just work with your dog. I work with you. You will learn how to handle leash basics, manage potty schedules, and why enforcing a 'place' command is the secret to a calm, happy puppy at home.
The first few months are the most critical window for your dog's development. Many owners mistakenly prioritize 'freedom' or endless play for their puppies, but what they actually crave—and need—is structure. At our South Delhi center, we focus on proactive guidance to prevent unwanted behaviors before they even start.
Why Preschool Residency Matters
Puppies are like infants; they don't know how to navigate the world. Our residency program provides a controlled environment where we focus on:
- Biological Rhythms: We establish strict potty and crate schedules. This creates predictable routines that make housebreaking significantly easier for you.
- Impulse Control: We teach 'Wait' at doors and gates, ensuring your puppy learns that excitement doesn't always equal access. This prevents jumping and counter-surfing.
- Confidence Building: Through gentle desensitization, we expose puppies to new sounds, surfaces, and handling (like nail clipping), so they don't grow up fearful of everyday life.
- The 'Place' Command: This is the most important skill for a calm household. It teaches your dog to settle and switch off, even when there are distractions around.
It’s About You, Too
I often tell parents that if the training stays at the center, I haven't done my job. We finish every residency with an intensive handler transfer session. This is where I teach you the leash mechanics and vocal commands you need to maintain the training at home. You aren't just dropping off a puppy; you are learning how to be the leader they need. We look at potty training, crate training, and socialization as the foundation of a deeper, long-term relationship. When you understand how to guide them, the 'puppy blues' become a lot easier to manage.
