About Self-Defense Workshops for Schools, Colleges & Companies
These workshops are not about learning movie-style acrobatics. My team and I focus on situational awareness, effective wrist releases, and how to handle specific stressors like navigating parking lots or office elevators. We structure these sessions to give you immediate, actionable tools, so you leave with more than just a participation certificate.
Our Approach to Safety
When I conduct a self-defense workshop, I start with one core truth: prevention is better than confrontation. My teaching, based on decades of traditional Shorin-ryu practice, emphasizes de-escalation and smart decision-making over brute force.
We break down our 90 to 120-minute sessions into three practical pillars:
- Situational Awareness: Understanding your environment, recognizing threats before they escalate, and learning how to set boundaries.
- Physical Techniques: Simple, repeatable moves for wrist releases, avoiding grabs, and weak-point strikes. We prioritize moves that work regardless of your size or strength.
- Scenario Simulation: We discuss and practice handling specific, real-world situations, such as late-night commutes, taxi safety, or dealing with unwanted attention in public or professional spaces.
Who We Train
I have had the privilege of working with various institutions across Bengaluru, including ISBR Business School and the Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College. My goal is to make these skills accessible to:
- Academic Institutions: Training female students on university campuses to increase their confidence and safety.
- Healthcare Professionals: Teaching doctors and hospital staff who often work odd hours and need to be constantly aware of their surroundings.
- Corporate Teams: Helping employees stay vigilant during their daily commute and while traveling for work.
Each workshop includes a demonstration segment where I or my senior instructors perform board breaking (Tameshiwari), which helps participants understand the focus and energy required for effective defense. We provide digital or print certificates upon completion to document your participation. We travel to your venue within city limits, bringing all necessary equipment for a safe and focused learning environment.
