About Elegant Finishes: From PU to Laminate
Unlike standard laminates, PU paint finishes allow us to create unique grooves and rounded edges that simply are not possible with rigid sheets. It creates a smooth, continuous surface that looks painted rather than applied. If you want a finish that feels as rich as it looks and stands up to daily kitchen wear, this is the option to prioritize.
Choosing a finish is the most critical decision for both the look and the longevity of your kitchen. We guide you through three distinct tiers of materials, all built on our standard 16mm or 18mm Boiling Water Proof (BWP) Marine Grade Plywood core to ensure your cabinets do not warp over time.
1. High-Pressure Laminate (HPL)
This is our most practical, workhorse finish. Using branded laminates from Merino or Greenlam, we machine-press them onto the plywood with PVC edge banding. It is ideal for high-traffic kitchens where budget efficiency and resistance to scratches are the top priorities.
2. Acrylic and Back-Painted Glass
If you prefer a contemporary, high-gloss aesthetic, this is the modern standard. We use European scratch-resistant acrylic or 4mm toughened back-painted glass. These materials reflect light, making smaller kitchens appear more spacious. They are paired with handle-less aluminum Gola profiles to maintain a clean, minimalist line without the visual clutter of external handles.
3. Luxury PU (Polyurethane) Paint
This is for kitchens that serve as the focal point of the home. PU paint allows us to apply automotive-grade finishes in satin matte or high gloss. Because this is a liquid paint finish, it enables intricate styling like country-style moldings, CNC routed patterns, and floating base units. It provides a seamless, luxurious look that wraps around edges, leaving no visible joint lines.
