The secret to a long-lasting kitchen is not just the glossy finish, but the hardware behind the doors. I focus on installing tandem boxes that do not jam after a year of heavy use and strictly use 710-grade BWP marine ply because, in Mumbai, moisture is the real enemy of your kitchen cabinets. I do not design kitchens that look good only in photos; I design them to handle daily Indian cooking without the hinges sagging or the edges peeling.
Why Your Kitchen Material Matters
When we plan your kitchen, the first thing I check is the moisture resistance of the materials. Using commercial ply in a kitchen is a mistake. I insist on 100% Boiling Water Proof (BWP) marine ply for every cabinet. It is the only way to ensure that your kitchen remains termite-proof and doesn't swell up during the monsoon.
Designing for Efficiency
Whether you have a compact parallel layout or a sprawling L-shape, the goal is the same: reduce the steps you take to cook. I optimize the placement of your hob, sink, and fridge—the golden triangle of any kitchen.
- Smart Hardware: I incorporate Hettich or Blum tandem boxes and soft-close hydraulic hinges to ensure drawers slide silently and do not slam shut.
- Storage Solutions: I install tall pantry units for dry storage, spice pull-outs, and corner magic units to access dead space in corner cabinets.
- Finishes: You have choices ranging from High-Gloss Laminate for a budget-friendly shine to Acrylic or Supermatt PU for a premium, anti-scratch look.
