About Maternal & Postpartum Nutrition
Why I Do This
I'm Anu, a nutritionist and mom of two girls. I know how lost you can feel with all the advice (and myths) out there about what you should eat during pregnancy and after delivery. I started this because I wanted to clear the confusion and give moms real, research-backed info—no drama, no expensive superfoods, just stuff you’ll actually find in your kitchen.
My Way: Simple, Local, Real
- You’re not really "eating for two"—just a little extra is enough.
- Local foods like fresh veggies, fruits, and whole grains are my go-to.
- Hydration is a must, especially with our Chennai heat. Nariyal paani (coconut water), sabja (basil seeds), and fruit-infused water are my daily hacks.
- I bust myths like "overeating helps the baby" and help you focus on eating right, not more.
What I Cover
- First trimester struggles: Morning sickness, food aversions, and what to eat when nothing feels right (paan after meals can really help with nausea).
- Must-have nutrients: Choline for baby’s brain, magnesium for cramps, protein, vitamin C, and D.
- Food safety: No raw meats, unpasteurized dairy, or high-mercury fish—let’s keep it safe.
Postpartum & Breastfeeding Support
- Recovery nutrition after delivery and C-section (soft, mild foods at first).
- Practical breastfeeding meal plan ideas to keep your energy up and milk flowing.
- Focused on postpartum weight loss habits that don’t need crazy diets—just patience, veggies, and easy snacks like boiled peanut chaat or masala omelette.
This Phase Is Tough—You Deserve Support
I’ve been there: the tiredness, the moods, the pressure to "bounce back." You need rest, sunlight, good food, and family help—these aren’t luxuries, they’re essentials. My job is to support you with real advice, without making things more complicated.
