About The Chitrakar Awards: Our Platform for Artists
This exhibition is the final step in our mentorship process. Before these paintings ever reach the Rangoli Metro Art Center, each artist works with me on everything from color theory choices to final framing, ensuring their portfolio is truly gallery-ready for a professional audience.
The Chitrakar International Art Exhibition is not just a show; it is a proving ground. When I started this academy in 2010, I wanted to create more than just a place to learn drawing or painting. I wanted a community where students could eventually stand confidently beside their own work.
We design this exhibition to bridge the gap between hobbyist and professional. For our students, the process begins months in advance. We hold rigorous sessions where we focus on technique, yes, but also on the story each piece tells. Whether it is a child showcasing their first acrylic landscape or an adult presenting a complex oil portrait, the goal is the same: to gain the experience of public critique and professional display.
We actively host these events in accessible, public spaces like the Rangoli Metro Art Center to invite real-world feedback. It is one thing to paint in a quiet studio in Malleshwaram, and quite another to see a stranger stop, look, and admire your work.
