About From My Easel
I don't just teach art, I live it daily. Whether I am balancing the creative demands of a commissioned packaging project for a brand like Faber-Castell or guiding a student through their first shading exercise, my process is rooted in the same discipline. You will see that reflected here in my personal gallery, where every sketch tells a story I aim to help my students replicate in their own artistic journeys.
My approach to art is built on the belief that everyone has a masterpiece waiting to be uncovered, whether you are five or fifty. This collection showcases the breadth of my work, from complex spiritual portraits and mythology-inspired paintings to the live sketches I create during camps and workshops.
My Artistic Philosophy
My style blends traditional techniques with modern expression. When I work on a commission or a live piece, I focus on the interplay of light and shadow, which is exactly what I teach during our sessions at Malleshwaram and Vijayanagar. My goal is to move beyond theory and get students comfortable with messy, honest experimentation. If you see a technique in my gallery—like my blocky, abstract horse brushstrokes or the layering process in an acrylic portrait—know that these are the same methods we practice in our weekend workshops.
From Studio to Classroom
Art shouldn't be intimidating. My studio spaces in Horamavu, Tatanagar, Mathikere, and Jindhal Nagar are designed to feel like community hubs rather than sterile classrooms. When you join our academy, you are not just learning to draw or paint; you are entering a space where I provide direct critique, help you build a professional portfolio, and prepare you for exhibitions. We keep our batches small to ensure that every student gets the mentorship required to grow from a hobbyist into a confident artist who can display their work on the big stage.
NS Kumbar Art Academy
I am NS Kumbar. For me, art is a heartbeat—whether I am painting a commissioned piece for a global brand or helping a student find their own brushstroke in our studio. I started this journey to turn my passion into a shared community, and I would love for you to step into that world with me.
