About Shakti Raas Utsav: A Pre-Navratri Spectacle
When I organize a public Garba event, I do not just book a venue and hope for the best. I act as the show director, which means I handle the artist lineup, sound checks, and floor management. Whether it is scheduling the transition from slow Garba to fast-paced Sanedo or selecting a credible jury for competitions, I manage the small details that keep the crowd moving and the energy high all night long.
Organizing a large-scale Garba event requires more than just enthusiasm. It demands strict production management. My approach to events like Shakti Raas Utsav is based on three pillars: technical precision, artist coordination, and crowd management.
Why my event planning is different
- Artist Curation: I do not just bring in any performer. I coordinate with bands and singers (like Nikhil Dawda & Band) who understand the specific rhythm required for a seamless Navratri flow. I manage their sound checks and performance slots so there are no awkward silences.
- Technical Setup: A Garba night dies without the right sound. I oversee the PA system requirements, stage monitors, and the lighting wash to ensure the dancers can see the stage and the performers can hear themselves. I handle the logistics so you avoid the common pitfalls of patchy sound or poor stage visibility.
- Flow and Sequence: I design the event timeline. We start with traditional Garba, move into upbeat Dandiya, and build up to the high-energy Sanedo. I am on the ground managing the 'show' aspect, meaning I am the one cueing the DJ, managing the MC, and ensuring the vibe never dips.
The Logistics I Handle
