Custom Bridal Storytelling & Portrait Mehandi

Getting a portrait or storytelling design is a detailed process that goes beyond standard mehandi. Since I capture specific faces, initials, or city skylines, I recommend booking at least a few weeks in advance so we can finalize the layout. We do not just trace; we sketch and adjust until the likeness is perfect, ensuring it fits seamlessly with the rest of your bridal coverage.

Portrait mehandi is all about the details that matter to you. I have created everything from traditional Radha-Krishna motifs and Doli scenes to modern designs featuring Mumbai and New York skylines for couples across the city. When we discuss your design, we look at your specific memories. Do you want your partner's face, a silhouette of your engagement, or a symbol that represents how you met?

My Process

I do not do copy-paste designs. Every portrait is drawn from scratch to ensure the proportions are right.

1. Planning: We start by deciding the placement—usually mid-forearm to elbow for maximum detail.
2. Drafting: I sketch the figure first to ensure it matches the reference images provided.
3. Application: Using my own homemade organic henna, I layer the details. The shading for portraits requires a different technique than standard floral work, which is why I prefer to be the primary artist for these sessions.

Why Quality Matters

For figurative art, the clarity of the design depends on the henna quality. I use a triple-sifted Nilgiri oil mix in my homemade cones. This ensures that the deep, dark stain develops evenly across the fine lines of the portrait, so your wedding photos look crisp and beautiful.
