You will notice I am obsessive about the prep work. Before a single drop of polish touches your nail, we spend time on dry cuticle care using precise e-file techniques. It is not just to make the nail bed look clean, it is the essential first step to ensure your gel polish actually adheres and lasts for three weeks without lifting.
When you walk into one of my studios in Galleria Market, Cuffe Parade, or Koregaon Park, you will notice we do things differently. My approach to nail care is based on my experience in the tech world where process matters. We don't skip steps.
The NSG Prep Method
My team is trained to prioritize the health of your natural nail plate. We utilize dry manicuring, which involves using an e-file to gently remove dead cuticle skin without soaking the nails in water. Water expands the nail plate, and if you apply gel while it's still swollen, the polish will chip as soon as your nails dry and shrink back. Our dry method ensures a seamless application that clings to the nail.
The Curing Science
One of the most common issues clients face is gel peeling at the edges. This often happens because of improper curing. I teach my team and my clients that the placement of the hand inside the LED lamp is critical. We ensure every finger, especially the thumb, is flat and centered under the light. This provides even exposure to the UV/LED source, which is required for a durable, glass-like finish.
