Trying out wobbly partner poses with your bestie or partner? We love turning yoga into a game. Check out these real-life challenges we have tried, falls, laughs, and all.

We love trying out challenges we see online. Here, we're attempting a partner handstand lift. It’s a game of holding on, trusting your partner, and celebrating when you nail it. The little dance at the end is mandatory.

Can we do this? This partner bakasana, or crow pose challenge, requires the base to hold a solid stance while the flyer balances on their back. It’s a test of strength for both partners and a lot of fun to attempt.

Whose chaturanga is better? This stacked chaturanga dandasana is a playful strength challenge. It requires the base to hold a perfect plank while supporting the flyer, who is also holding a chaturanga. It’s tougher than it looks.

Here’s a simple but effective partner challenge. The base holds a deep forward fold (paschimottanasana) while the flyer practices their crow pose (kakasana) on their back. This gives the base a great stretch and helps the flyer build arm strength.

This is what happens when Ashtanga yogis start exploring acro yoga. We tried a chin stand challenge but ended up bailing out with our own little twist. It’s a reminder that even with a strong foundation, new things can be tricky and lead to some laughs.

Sometimes we get the wackiest ideas, like going from a wedding to a bhujapidasana hold challenge. Life is about balance, right? This arm balance pose requires significant upper body and core strength, and doing it together makes it a fun competition.

We joined in on this fun hip mobility challenge. It involves moving from a squat to a seated cross legged position and back up without using your hands. It’s a great test of hip flexibility and control, and it's always more fun to try with a partner.

About Fun Partner Challenges

You do not need to be a gymnast to try these. Honestly, the best part of our partner yoga is not the final pose, it is the messy, giggly process of figuring out how to balance together. If you are looking for a date night idea or just want to try something new with a friend that beats the usual dinner routine, these challenges are your starting point.
