Leadership requires action beyond the courtroom. We have secured essential improvements, from expanded workspaces to better medical access, for all members.

In just one month, we have made tangible progress. This video summarizes our initial achievements, from convincing the building management committee to open the canteen post-hours for client meetings to securing five new bar rooms in the S block to ease the shortage of workspaces.

The loss of a dear friend due to the lack of immediate medical aid was a tragedy that should never be repeated. This personal pain drove me and my executive team to push for a chemist shop right within the court complex. This is more than convenience; it's about our community's health and safety.

Promises must be followed by action. We identified a pressing need for more space, especially for our women lawyers and senior members. In this video, I explain the problem-solving process behind relinquishing an old space to create two new, improved bar rooms, turning a decrepit area into a functional, well-lit workspace for our members.

About this collection

When I pushed to keep the canteen open until 8 PM, it was not for leisure. Many young lawyers without personal chambers needed a dignified place to consult clients after court hours. This shift was a necessity, not a luxury, ensuring that every advocate has a professional space to work, regardless of their standing.

Tangible progress is the only metric that matters to me. In my time here, we moved beyond rhetoric to address the daily realities of our legal community.

Prioritizing Health and Safety

We established an on-site chemist shop within the court complex. This was a response to personal loss; I lost a colleague because medical aid was too far away. This facility is now a permanent resource, ensuring that no one is left vulnerable during a health emergency while on duty.

Solving the Space Crunch

We faced a serious conundrum regarding workspace. To facilitate the expansion of women's facilities, we had to relinquish a space held for 30 years. Instead of simply displacing our elderly members, we negotiated to convert a decrepit filing area near the canteen into a new, well-lit bar room. It is a win-win for everyone involved.

Operational Reality

These changes—extended canteen hours, new S-block bar rooms, and critical medical access—are just the beginning. I believe in the farz (duty) of leadership to clear the path for the next generation. My focus remains on executing projects that provide immediate utility to the 40,000 strong members of this bar.

I have spent 30 years navigating these court corridors, and I know that a lawyer's biggest struggle is often the lack of basic infrastructure. My approach is to bridge that gap through persistent negotiation and actionable change.
