Our umbrella painting workshop in action. It's a wonderful way for children to express their creativity on a unique canvas and go home with a beautiful piece of art they can actually use.
Look at the pride and joy on their faces! Holding up their finished, hand-painted umbrellas is the best part of the workshop. The colorful results speak for themselves.

Here is the setup for another one of our umbrella painting sessions. Using tape resist techniques, the children create amazing geometric patterns with their paint.

About this collection
Every workshop I host, whether it's our popular umbrella painting or festival-special mask making, is built around intentional play. I don't just hand over supplies and let kids run wild. We work on specific fine motor milestones—like using glue sticks with precision or mastering tape-resist patterns—while learning about the cultural story behind the season. Your child leaves with a beautiful, handmade project, but they also take away a new burst of creative confidence.
How We Design Our Workshops
I believe festivals are the perfect hook for learning. When we make Ravana faces for Dussehra or splashes of color during a Holi party, we aren't just 'doing crafts.' We are practicing hand-eye coordination, learning to follow multi-step instructions, and exploring new textures.
What to Expect
- Focus on Process: You will notice I emphasize the 'doing' over the final look. Whether it is our 6-day intensive holiday camps or a single-session event, the curriculum includes guided storytelling, movement games, and structured art time.
- Age-Appropriate Engagement: We tailor activities for 1 to 6-year-olds. While toddlers might focus on sensory-rich 'messy' play with safe materials, preschoolers engage with more complex project-based crafts like umbrella painting or DIY science experiments.
- Venue Logistics: We rotate our workshops between premium locations like Namma Nook on New BEL Road and the Rotary Club on Lavelle Road. These spaces are chosen to be safe, AC-controlled, and welcoming for both kids and parents.
The Takeaway
At the end of a session, your child doesn't just walk away with a piece of art. They walk away with the pride of having created something unique, the social experience of sharing space with peers, and the joy of having made a new discovery. If you have questions about specific materials or how a workshop handles a shy child, please reach out. I am always happy to chat through how we can support your little one's creative journey.
