From the misty railway tracks of Matheran to the thundering force of Devkund, I chase the wild stories hidden in Maharashtra's hills.

Devkund Waterfall is a monsoon dream come true. This reel shows the journey to this hidden gem near Mumbai, from the lush green trek to the magnificent waterfall itself.

Another look at the majestic Devkund waterfall during the monsoon. The power and beauty of this place are something you have to see to believe.

The sheer force of Devkund waterfall, seen from below. The mist and spray fill the air, creating a truly immersive and powerful experience.

This view is better than any weekend plans. A shot of two people sitting and admiring the stunning Kumbhe waterfall from a distance.

A postcard from Satara, featuring a mystical waterfall shrouded in fog. The branches in the foreground create a natural frame, adding depth to this cinematic shot.

A view from a ferry in Satara, looking out at the green hills and calm backwaters. It's a peaceful side of Maharashtra that I love to explore.

A lone boat rests by the shore of a lake in Satara, the water turned reddish by the monsoon soil. The moody, overcast sky adds to the dramatic atmosphere.

Sometimes, all you need is a little mountain air to reset. This is me relaxing in the lush green grass at Karnala Fort, just taking in the view and the peace.

Matheran's monsoon charm is on its way. This reel is a preview of the magic, with misty landscapes, lush greenery, and the famous toy train tracks.

Majorly missing Matheran in the monsoon. The vertical format of this video emphasizes the height and drama of the green cliffs and foggy valleys.

About Exploring Maharashtra's Wild Heart

Shooting in these humid, misty conditions isn't just about having the right camera. It is about keeping gear safe and finding the light when everything is grey. I carry a specialized bag with moisture-proof covers and quick-swap lenses because the best shots at places like Devkund or Matheran happen in seconds before the fog rolls in again.

Maharashtra’s landscapes in the monsoon are not just scenery, they are characters in a film. Whether I am trekking to the hidden Devkund waterfall near Bhira village or walking the damp, misty railway tracks in Matheran, my goal is to capture the mood, not just the location.

The Cinematic Approach

I do not believe in generic travel vlogs. I use my DJI Mini 4 Pro to cut through the clouds, revealing the scale of the Sahyadri ranges, while switching to an iPhone with anamorphic lenses for those tight, personal frames near the water.

  • Devkund & Kumbhe: The trek to these waterfalls is intense, but the payoff is the sheer sound design. I record ambient audio on location, the wind, the rustle of leaves, the crash of water, to make your final edit feel like you are standing right there.
  • Satara & The Ghats: When the Kaas Plateau turns green or the fog rolls over the backwaters in Satara, I focus on natural framing. Branches, rocks, and even the rainy puddles on the ground become part of the composition.

Technical Reality

If you are looking to shoot your own adventure, remember the gear struggle. I prioritize weather-sealed rigs and Insta360 Go 3s cameras for POV shots while climbing. If you are hiring me for a project, we are not just going for a hike, we are storyboarded for the journey, the arrival, and the experience.

Whether it is a destination film or an adventure reel, I bring the cinematic gear to make the wild heart of Maharashtra look as raw and beautiful as it feels in the moment.
