Cinematic & Moody Portraits in Mumbai

I don't do stiff poses or plain backgrounds. My style is about capturing the raw energy of Mumbai, using natural light and city textures to make your portraits look like stills from a film.

A portrait session near Mumbai's colonial architecture. I used the leading lines of the stairs and the soft, overcast light to frame the subject and create a pensive, cinematic mood.

A night portrait taken on the streets of Mumbai for a realme campaign. The subject is lit by the ambient city lights, with the background blurred to create a beautiful bokeh effect and keep the focus on her expression.

This portrait was shot at night in Mumbai, using the blurred lights of the city to create a dreamy backdrop. The goal was to capture a portrait that shines, even in low light conditions.

A heartfelt silhouette of a father and child against a golden sunset at the beach. This image is all about emotion and capturing a fleeting, joyful moment.

A more interactive and dynamic portrait from the same session. The hand reaching towards the camera adds a layer of engagement and breaks the fourth wall, making the viewer feel present.

A close up portrait with the bustling Mumbai streetscape softly blurred in the background. The warm tones and the subject's gentle smile create a welcoming and authentic feel.

A close up portrait from the same night shoot. Here, the focus is entirely on the subject's gaze, using the warm background lights to add depth and atmosphere.

About this collection

I don't do stiff studio poses. My portrait style is about grabbing that specific 'vibe'—the blur of Mumbai’s street lights, the texture of old walls, and that golden hour moment when the light hits the skyline just right. We usually spend the first twenty minutes just walking around and finding the right location before we even lift the camera, which is exactly how we get those natural, cinematic frames you see here.

Most people think portraits are just about smiling at a lens, but I approach them like a film sequence. We are not just taking a picture. We are building a scene.

My Approach to Your Portraits

I shoot with my Sony A7 IV and a mix of prime lenses to get that buttery background blur you see in my gallery. When we shoot, I am looking for the 'Ajun thodasa thamb na' (just wait a little longer) moment—that split second where the light, the emotion, and the composition align perfectly.

Where We Shoot

I prefer the streets of Mumbai over a studio. Whether it is the colonial architecture in South Mumbai, the chaotic charm of a busy crossing, or a quiet sunset at the beach, the location adds the story. We can shoot in the late afternoon for soft, golden tones or wait for the city lights to create that moody, teal-orange cinematic look.

What You Get

This isn't just about handing over files. Every session includes:

  • Creative Direction: I help you with poses so you do not feel awkward.
  • Cinematic Grading: I edit every image personally to match that deep, moody color palette I am known for.
  • The Vibe: You get high-resolution images that actually feel like you, not like a stiff corporate headshot.

If you want photos that look like they could be on a movie poster rather than a standard catalog, drop me a message and we can plan a location.

I picked up a camera in 2020 as a pharmacy student and never looked back. I see portraiture through a filmmaker's lens, which means I prioritize movement and story over just smiling at the lens. Let’s create something that actually feels like you.
