Blending traditional temple aesthetics with a modern, minimal touch. I create sacred, soulful wedding spaces using fresh blooms, brass accents, and heritage elements.

A mandap that feels like a blessing. We created this stunning canopy of tuberose garlands, framed by banana trees, to design a sacred space for this South Indian ceremony. The moment the couple exchanged vows under it was pure magic.

This is my modern take on a traditional South Indian wedding mandap. I used a lush canopy of fresh greenery and marigold strings, paired with a classic floral toran over the doorway, to create a space that feels sacred, authentic, and deeply personal.

A beautiful moment from a traditional South Indian wedding I designed. The bride's rich Kanjeevaram silk saree and the groom's elegant sherwani are perfectly complemented by the lush, natural decor of the mandap in the background.

The varmala is more than just a garland; it's a symbol of acceptance and love. I designed these custom varmalas with a vibrant mix of sunflowers, chrysanthemums, and baby's breath to be a unique statement piece for the couple's special day.

No South Indian celebration is complete without invoking blessings. We created this beautiful altar with a carved wooden Ganesha, surrounded by offerings of bananas, coconuts, and fragrant tulsi, setting a divine tone for the wedding festivities.

A behind the scenes look at how we bring a traditional wedding to life. Our team meticulously hangs garlands of marigolds and sets up the mandap, ensuring every detail is perfect before the guests arrive.

It's the small, thoughtful details that make a wedding truly yours. For this South Indian wedding, we created these elegant booklets explaining the 'Pelli' or wedding rituals, helping guests from different cultures connect with the ceremony.

I love creating canopies that feel both grand and natural. Here, we used strings of golden marigolds and fresh mango leaves to design a traditional yet airy ceiling for an authentic South Indian wedding ceremony.

We incorporate sacred symbols to add depth and meaning to the decor. This brass Nandi, adorned with a simple floral garland, was placed at the entrance to bless the couple's union with strength and purity.

A brass deity nestled among fresh lotus pads and white blooms. I believe in styling spaces that feel soulful, using elements that are both beautiful and spiritually significant to the couple.

About Authentic South Indian Weddings

I do not believe in plastic or artificial fillers. For a true South Indian aesthetic, I work exclusively with fresh, local materials, such as heavy banana leaves, fragrant jasmine, and real brassware. If you have been searching for that homey temple vibe without the clutter of a typical event hall, that is exactly what I focus on. I want your mandap to smell like jasmine and look like a sanctuary, not just another backdrop.

When I style a South Indian wedding, the goal is not to create a set but to cultivate an atmosphere. Many couples come to me wanting that quintessential temple grandeur, but they are often worried about the venue looking too sterile or, conversely, too chaotic.

My design process starts with the architecture of the space. Whether we are transforming a private villa or a hotel ballroom, I rely on organic textures. You will not find synthetic drapes on my mandaps. Instead, we use real mango leaf torans, woven marigold strings, and fresh banana plantain pillars to build the structure. These materials age beautifully throughout the day, retaining that lush, vibrant energy that artificial decor simply cannot match.

I focus heavily on brassware. We curate collections of vintage urulis, Samai lamps, and Nandi idols to ground the space. It adds weight and history to the setup. For guests, I often design interactive elements, such as a traditional basket of fresh flowers for ritual offerings or hand-illustrated booklets that explain the significance of the pelli rituals. It turns the ceremony into a shared experience, rather than something they are watching from the sidelines.

If you have a specific venue in mind, I work with the existing light. If it is a morning wedding, we play with natural shadows and vibrant yellows. For evening ceremonies, we layer real wax diyas to create that warm, flickering glow characteristic of heritage temples. It is intentional, rooted in tradition, and designed to make your guests feel the sanctity of the moment.

I'm Janhavi. I believe your wedding should feel like a piece of your history. I live for the quiet, honest moments, like the smell of fresh jasmine, the flicker of a brass diya, and the way a perfectly placed mango leaf can change the entire energy of a room.
