A look at the craft behind my mehendi designs, from mixing organic henna paste to achieving that deep, lasting stain.

A behind the scenes look at my work. This video shows me preparing my signature natural henna paste and then transitions to show the beautiful art it creates.

The application process in action. Here you can see me carefully drawing a design on the bride's hand, often working with reference images to bring her vision to life.

About Behind the Art: My Process

I do not use pre-made cones because the quality of the stain depends entirely on the freshness of the mix. I prepare my own organic henna paste using essential oils at the venue, which is why my application sessions are long and deliberate, usually ranging from 4 to 10 hours depending on the design. This ensures the paste is active, rich, and ready to give you that deep, dark colour on your wedding day.

My Approach to Natural Henna

For me, mehendi is chemistry as much as it is art. I use only my own homemade, 100% natural henna paste, mixed with essential oils like Nilgiri or clove. This is why you will never find me rushing through an application. When you book a bridal session with me, we are committing to a process that prioritises the final stain quality over speed.

Why the Process Takes Time

Whether you opt for my traditional elbow-length designs or the royal portrait mehendi, the application is intricate. My work involves:

  • Precision Work: Focusing on neat, sharp lines for motifs like mandalas, jaali, and palace windows.
  • Custom Storytelling: Integrating personal elements like pet portraits, wedding dates, or shlokas into the flow of the design.
  • The 'Backpain' Reality: It is hard physical work to maintain detail for hours, but my focus is always on the final result—the bride’s smile and the richness of the stain.

Serving Mumbai and Beyond

While I am based in Mumbai, I travel across India and internationally for bridal bookings. Whether you are planning an intimate ceremony or a large destination wedding, my process remains the same: I arrive, prepare the fresh paste, and dedicate the necessary hours to ensure every detail on your hands and feet tells your story perfectly.
