Custom Storytelling Bridal Mehndi Designs in Mumbai
Your mehndi should be as unique as your love story. I weave personal elements, from your partner’s portrait and wedding dates to your pet, into intricate, handcrafted designs that celebrate your journey.
I love creating narrative designs. On the left arm, I've depicted the divine love of Radha and Krishna, and on the right, a portrait of the wedding couple, all framed by palace architecture.
Yes, I can even include your furry family members! This video shows the process of creating a custom dog portrait for a bride, from the initial sketch to the final, beautiful result on her hands.
This is what full bridal mehndi is all about: telling a story. I created custom bride and groom figures on the palms, surrounded by intricate patterns and rows of elephants, to capture the essence of their wedding day.
It's always a fun challenge to create portraits with henna. Here is a portrait of Alia Bhatt I did, practicing my skills to capture likeness and expression for my bridal clients.
A beautiful bridal figure drawn on the palm. This design element shows the bride in her wedding attire, holding a 'diya', symbolizing the light she brings to her new family.
Watch as I add the final touches to this intricate bridal figure. Every line and dot is carefully placed to bring the bride's portrait to life on the palm.
This video shows the creation of a classic Radha Krishna portrait. It's a popular and timeless choice for brides who want to incorporate a symbol of divine love into their mehndi.
About this collection
Crafting a storytelling design is a collaborative process that happens well before I pick up the henna cone. We will sit down to discuss the specific elements, like a sketch of your pet, a recreation of your first date, or even the architecture of your wedding venue, that make your story yours. Because I use fine 0.38mm tips for this level of detail, I dedicate significantly more time to these designs to ensure the figures, expressions, and symbols are clear and capture the likeness you want.
Adding personal narratives to mehndi has changed how I work. Instead of just picking a traditional mandala or peacock motif, we are building a custom illustration on your skin. Whether it is a portrait of your partner, a specific wedding date, or even a sketch of your dog, these details transform a standard bridal design into a keepsake.
What Can You Include?
The options are limited only by the space on your hands and feet. Popular requests include:
- Couple Portraits: Realistic sketches of you and your partner, often centered on the palm.
- Pet Sketches: I can include your furry family members, capturing their likeness in henna.
- Thematic Elements: Baraat processions, shehnaai players, or specific floral motifs that match your lehenga embroidery.
- Significance: Wedding dates, hashtags, or symbols that define your relationship.
Technical Precision
Because this work is dense, I use a specific 0.38mm tip for figure sketching. This allows for the micro-details in a face or the fine lines of a building. I prepare my organic henna paste 24 to 48 hours before your booking, ensuring a dark, rich stain that makes these intricate figures pop.
Practical Considerations
Since these storytelling designs require 6 to 8 hours of continuous work, comfort is key. We typically plan a consultation before the wedding to draft the layout. If you have specific inspiration, I am happy to incorporate your ideas into my existing figure-work style. For the best result, we apply a lemon-sugar sealant and secure the area with medical tape to protect the design and help the stain develop deep into the skin.
