My Mehendi Process and Artistry
I see mehendi as my peace, not just work. Here is a look at my approach to henna, from detailed bridal stories to fun group sessions.
This video shows the difference between a simple design and what I mean when I say I do henna. Being a professional artist is about creating intricate, meaningful art that tells a story on your hands.
Teamwork makes the dream work. This is a shot from a large party where we did mehendi for a big group of lovely ladies. It's always fun to celebrate together.
About Additional Work & My Process
If you are looking for lightning-fast mehendi, I might not be the right match for your event. I take my time to make sure each line is crisp and the stain is deep because for me, this is art, not just a quick service. When I work, I prefer to connect with the design and the person sitting in front of me.
For me, henna is sukoon. Whether I am teaching a student in my Malad studio or working on a bride's hands, I treat every design like a blank canvas waiting for a story.
My process is simple: I use organic henna cones soaked for 8 to 12 hours to get that deep, rich stain everyone loves. For small parties and gatherings, my team of associates handles the siders so everyone gets a beautiful design without waiting for hours. But for bridal work, baby showers, or detailed engagement portraits, I handle the application myself.
I love incorporating personal elements into your mehendi—dates, initials, portraits of you and your partner, or even cute baby figures for your baby shower. It’s these small touches that make the art truly yours. If you have a specific theme or a story you want to tell on your palms, tell me about it during our initial chat.
When we book your date, we can decide if you need a simple mandala, a full bridal set, or something thematic. I am based in Mumbai, but I travel across India for weddings. Har Har Mahadev.

I’m Harshala, and I am just obsessed with henna. When I’m not teaching new students or sketching designs in my Malad space, I’m probably lost in a design, trying to draw a story on someone’s hand.
