Dance is more than just movement; it is a language I have spent a lifetime learning. Here is how I view the craft, the grind, and the art of being a dancer.

This is a core belief of mine. It takes an athlete to dance, but it takes an artist to be a dancer. The difference lies in the ability to express, to feel, and to tell a story through movement.

I see dance as a universal language. Every move is a word, and it's important to take the time to learn to pronounce it well, with clarity, grace, and intention.

As a choreographer, it is crucial to know the difference between what is in my control and what is not. I focus my energy on quality choreography, creative concepts, and perfect execution, while preparing to adapt to things beyond my control.

A little rapid fire session to get to know me better. From my training in both Bharatanatyam and Kathak to my preference for working backstage, my entire journey has shaped my approach to creating dance experiences.

About My Philosophy on Dance & Life

If you want a show that flows, we need to build the foundation long before the music drops. As a choreographer, I focus heavily on the factors in my control—costume concepts, prop choices, and technical cues—to manage the inevitable chaos of live events. If you are looking for choreography, remember that the magic on stage is only possible because of the meticulous, unglamorous planning that happens behind the scenes.

The Athlete vs. The Artist

There is a massive difference between moving to music and telling a story through movement. I teach my students that you need the discipline of an athlete to train your body, but you need the soul of an artist to express the music. When we work on a project, we don't just focus on steps; we focus on intention.

Controlling the Chaos

People often ask how I manage such large-scale events like India's International Groovefest. The answer is simple: I distinguish between what I can control and what I cannot.

  • What I control: The quality of choreography, the innovation of costumes, the uniqueness of props, and the precision of the execution.
  • What I accept: Weather, unexpected venue changes, or technical glitches.

My job is to have a plan for the things that go wrong so you never see the stress on stage. Whether it is a sangeet performance or a corporate dance festival, this philosophy ensures that your event isn't just fun, it is professionally managed.

Why My Process is Different

I don't offer cookie-cutter choreography. My style is a mix of my classical roots in Bharatanatyam and Kathak combined with modern, high-energy dance. If you are tired of the same old routines and want an event that feels curated to your specific story, we should talk. My team and I handle everything from music editing and scripting to the final light cues, so you can enjoy the celebration.
