For the true plant collector, we have gathered the most fascinating specimens. From our native carnivorous pitcher plants to rare indoor finds, these are the conversation starters your home has been waiting for.

Meet the Pitcher Plant of Meghalaya, a fascinating carnivorous plant. This is Nepenthes khasiana, a meat-eating plant that is known to eat insects and even small mice.

This is India's only known native pitcher plant species, Nepenthes khasiana. It is considered endemic to Meghalaya and has also been reported in Assam, making it a truly special plant.

The pitcher plant has tube-like or jar-like red leaves. It was once believed this was a method of storing water for droughts, but the truth is even more interesting.

Research revealed that the 'tubes' of the pitcher plant are actually traps. Insects are lured to the rim for nectar and fall inside the slippery walls into a sticky fluid, with no way to escape.

About Unique & Exotic Collection

Keeping a Nepenthes khasiana, which is India's own native pitcher plant, happy at home is not just about regular watering. Because these are endemic to the humid forests of Meghalaya, they thrive on high humidity and consistent moisture rather than just a daily splash. If you are planning to bring one home, ensure you have a spot with bright, indirect light where humidity levels do not drop too low, as dry air is the one thing this plant truly dislikes.
