Manas: The Real Story Behind Dojang MMA
This isn't just about training techniques. It’s about the grind, the balcony-gym beginnings, and the singular obsession with building India’s first UFC champion.
Someone asked why we do MMA if the government doesn't support it. We don't play for the government, we play for our country and for ourselves. We create our own path.
A candid moment of laughter. Despite the stress and the grind, I love what I do. Big moves are coming for Indian combat sports.
A gift from a team member showing our journey from a small balcony to three centers. It's a powerful reminder of how far we've come and how much further we have to go.
A simple portrait. This is me.
A throwback to June 2022, when Dojang was just on my balcony. Even then, I knew we would produce world champions. The journey has just begun.
Another photo from the balcony days. The team was smaller, but the dream was just as big.
A selfie after a tough fight in a tournament. I lost the final and got beaten up, but I won because I proved to myself I could get back in the ring. I'm ready to climb the ladder again.
Posing with a trainer at the world-famous Yokkao gym in Thailand. I'm always a student of the game.
Rocking the Team Bharat (India) jacket. Representing my country is always the biggest honor.
My mindset: If everyone is against me, then everyone will lose.
About My Journey & Other Roles
When I look at the old photos of our first setup, I don't just see a gym. I see the 8 students who believed in me when I was just a coach training people on a balcony. We didn't have fancy equipment, but we had the discipline that most people lack. That balcony wasn't just a space; it was where we built the mental toughness that still defines Team Dojang today. Whether you are here for fitness or to turn pro, know that we value consistency over shortcuts.
Success for me isn't about the number of branches or the Instagram followers. It is about the fighters who stay in the cage when it gets tough. My journey from a struggling fighter to running three gym centers in Assam wasn't a straight line. It was filled with losses, financial uncertainty, and people telling me that MMA in India had no future. I ignored all that noise.
My coaching style is simple: I treat everyone equally. If you are a beginner walking in for weight loss or an athlete training for a Pro MMA fight, you get the same intensity. We break down the fundamentals of Boxing, Muay Thai, and BJJ until they are second nature.
We do not chase medals for the government; we chase the craft. I train my athletes to fight for themselves and for the country. This means when you sign up with me, you are not paying for a 'workout session.' You are paying to become part of a culture that prioritizes grit. We handle the technical side, the nutrition, and the recovery. You just need to bring the willingness to fail, learn, and try again. That is how we produce champions.
