Balcony & Terrace Garden Makeovers

Turn your unused balcony or terrace into a green escape. From vertical gardens to cozy seating areas, I create functional, lush spaces that make city living feel a lot more like home.

Sometimes, simplicity is key. This video shows how a single Bougainvillea and a row of Water Bamboo in modern planters can transform a balcony, adding a touch of elegance and peace without cluttering the space.

A high-rise balcony gets a clean, modern makeover with artificial turf and a curated selection of plants in minimalist white planters, including a Norfolk pine and flowering shrubs. This creates a neat, evergreen space with a stunning city view.

A beautiful example of a vertical garden on a terrace, with flowering creepers like Mandevilla climbing a trellis, complemented by potted palms and hydrangeas below to create a dense, floral screen.

This terrace is designed for relaxation, featuring a comfortable seating area next to a raised garden bed. The design includes a mix of tall Heliconia plants, shrubs, and a stone-clad water feature wall, creating a resort-like feel.

In this video, I explain my approach to small balconies. I show how to use vertical wall gardens, railing planters, and hanging baskets to maximize greenery, and how mixing leaf shapes, colors, and decor can make a compact space feel lush and personalized.

A before-and-after look at a terrace transformation. From empty pots on a tarp to a fully furnished and green sitting area, this shows how I can turn a bare space into a functional and beautiful outdoor room.

A modern terrace with composite wood decking, glass railings, and a stunning city view. The space is styled with a mix of large grey and white planters containing Dracaena and other architectural plants.

About this collection

Before we plant a single pot, I look at your space's actual potential. If you're working with a small balcony, I'll recommend a vertical MS grid system to keep your floor space clear, or if it's a terrace, we'll start with essential surface prep and drainage cells so you don't face waterproofing issues later.

How I Design Your Garden

When I visit your home, I'm not just looking for a corner for a plant. I’m thinking about sunlight, airflow, and how you want to use the space—whether it's a yoga corner or a quiet spot for your morning chai.

Small Balconies to Expansive Terraces

For high-rise apartments where space is limited, I use vertical gardening techniques. This involves mounting powder-coated MS grid systems on walls to house hanging plants, which instantly adds greenery without eating into your limited square footage. For terrace projects, we prioritize structural integrity. I ensure we install drain cells and geotextile fabric to protect your building's waterproofing before we lay down any decking or soil.

The Practical Side

  • Flooring: I use high-density artificial turf for a soft feel, or interlocking WPC wooden deck tiles if you have a wet area that needs drainage.
  • Planting: I create a layered look—tall palms in the back, flowering shrubs in the middle, and trailing pothos at the front. It creates a dense, lush effect that feels like a real garden, not just a collection of pots.
  • Lighting: I always suggest accent lighting. It highlights textures at night and makes your balcony feel like a private, glowing sanctuary away from the city traffic.

Everything I design is based on your budget and what actually survives in Bengaluru's climate, ensuring your garden stays green all year round with minimal fuss.

Projects undertaken across BengaluruStarting ₹350 per sq ft

I started Make My Garden because I wanted city folks to stop seeing their balconies as dumping grounds. Seven years later, I'm still the one sketching your layouts and checking the soil mix, making sure your home feels like a calm, green escape.
