Clay, Soil & Nature Art Workshops in Bengaluru
There is something grounding about getting your hands into real earth. Join us to reconnect with nature through clay sculpting, soil art, and mindful, tactile creation.
Snippets from a Clay Play workshop where we got our hands muddy for some earthy reconnection. We created little nests and birds, using our imagination and the beautiful materials nature provides.
This installation, 'Dirty Fertility', was created for the Soil Stories exhibition. It explores the taboos surrounding soil and the female body, questioning why we label these life-giving sources as 'dirty'.
Meet my tree buddy! I created this clay sculpture on a tree trunk during a workshop, personifying the spirit of the tree. It’s a beautiful way to connect with nature.
I am happiest with my hands muddy, enabling others to get their hands muddy too! This was from a clay play workshop where we all sat on the grass and created with earth.
A wider shot of the clay play workshop. It was a lovely Sunday spent sculpting, connecting, and enjoying the simple pleasure of working with our hands.
An installation view of my 'Dirty Fertility' sculptures, made from soil. The pieces explore the parallels between the stigma around soil and the taboos of female fertility.
Handprints in the soil, a powerful symbol of our connection to the earth. This was part of the 'Soil Stories' exhibition, which invited people to explore their relationship with the ground beneath their feet.
An announcement for 'Soil Stories', a multi-sensorial exhibition exploring the physiological, ecological, and cultural stories of soil.
Another flyer for the 'Soil Stories' exhibition, inviting people to unearth the stories hidden in the soil and discover a new era of climate citizenship.
To endlessly collaborating with the living world around us. This simple arrangement of leaves around a tree is a form of meditative art and a tribute to nature's beauty.
About Art from the Earth: Clay, Soil & Nature
Come prepared to get a little messy. In our clay and soil workshops, we leave the pressure for perfect results at the door and focus entirely on the feeling of the medium in our hands. Whether we are sculpting on-site at a farm or sitting in a local park, the goal is to stop thinking and start doing. You do not need to be an artist to join; you just need to be willing to let your hands get muddy.
We often live our lives in our heads, disconnected from the physical world. Our clay and nature-art sessions are an attempt to bridge that gap. We pull inspiration from projects like our Soil Stories exhibition, where we explored the taboos around soil, turning what many call 'dirt' into a medium for sculpture and storytelling. When you join these sessions, you aren't just making a shape out of mud; you are engaging in a meditative process. We work with raw, natural materials—sometimes just soil, sometimes clay—to create sculptures, or we collaborate with the living environment by arranging leaves and found objects into impermanent art. It is about learning to see the landscape as your canvas. We hold these sessions in places that allow us to step away from the concrete, such as lush lawns or creative farm spaces on the outskirts of Bangalore. If you feel like you have lost touch with your creative side, or simply need a quiet, tactile reset, this is where you start.
