Our Sustainable Promise: The Bottle Back Campaign
I believe beauty shouldn't cost the Earth. From my kitchen in Mulund to your home, I'm working to minimize waste through my bottle return program.
Let's close the loop on waste together. This Plastic-Free July, I'm inviting you to send back your empty MadebyRen bottles for recycling. In return, you'll get special offers on your next purchase. It's a small act that makes a big difference.
The beauty industry generates a massive amount of packaging waste. With my "Bottle Back Campaign," I'm trying to do my part. Return your empty bottles, and I’ll ensure they are responsibly recycled or reused. Let's choose better, for your skin and the Earth.
About Our Sustainable Promise
Sending back your empty bottles might seem small, but it’s a tangible step in cutting down landfill waste. When you return your empty MadebyRen containers, I personally ensure they are either cleaned and reused or responsibly recycled. It is a bit of extra effort for both of us, but I believe it is the only honest way to handle beauty packaging.
Why I started the Bottle Back Campaign
The beauty industry generates an overwhelming amount of packaging waste every year, and as a small business owner, I felt I couldn't just sit by and contribute to that. My 'Bottle Back' initiative isn't a marketing gimmick; it is a genuine attempt to close the loop on the products I create in my Mulund workshop.
How it works
It is simple. Once you have finished your bottle of hair oil or shampoo, don't toss it. Keep it aside. Once you have a few collected, send them back to me. In return, I offer credits or freebies—not just as a reward, but as a thank you for choosing a more conscious path with me.
The reality of small-scale sustainability
I want to be transparent with you—running this program comes with challenges. Being a small team, navigating high transport costs and finding truly eco-friendly packaging in small quantities is not easy. Sometimes, shipping an empty bottle back can have its own carbon footprint.
However, I believe that showing up consistently for the planet, even when it is difficult, is part of the 'glow-up.' My goal is to normalize refilling and recycling, turning every used bottle into an opportunity to do better. If you have questions about how to pack them safely or what items I can currently accept, please reach out. Let’s make sustainable skincare a collective habit.
MadebyRen
I'm Renuka, and I run MadebyRen from my home in Mulund. I don't just want to sell you products; I want to build a cycle where we don't end up drowning the planet in plastic. When you shop with me, you are not just getting handmade skincare—you are joining a community that actually cares about where the bottle ends up.
