Pure, simple, and sustainable: My skincare philosophy
Caring for your skin shouldn't be complicated. Here is how I use honest, plant-based ingredients to build simple rituals that are as kind to the earth as they are to you.
I often get asked about the name of my brand. "Ren" has beautiful meanings in different cultures, symbolizing purity, rebirth, and cleanliness. This philosophy guides me in creating simple, effective skincare that is accessible and uncomplicated.
I believe in empowering you with knowledge. This post from my Ingredient Knowledge Series explains the benefits of Aloe Vera. It's more than just a cooling gel; it's a natural hydrator that supports the skin's barrier, making it suitable for all skin types.
This is another entry in my ingredient series, focusing on Basil extract. Its natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties make it a wonderful ingredient for skincare, helping to prevent acne and cleanse pores effectively.
My commitment to care extends to our planet. I started the "close the loop" program to make it easy for you to recycle your empty bottles with me. It's my small way of reducing waste and building a more sustainable business, one bottle at a time.
The beauty industry creates a lot of packaging waste, and I want to be part of the solution. My "Bottle Back Campaign" is a simple initiative where you can return your empty bottles for responsible recycling. This is how we can make a difference together.
About Our Philosophy: Pure, Simple & Sustainable
Sustainability is not just a buzzword for me. When you finish a product, please do not throw the bottle away. My 'Bottle Back' campaign is designed so you can return your empty containers to me in Mulund. I take them back to clean, recycle, or reuse, and in return, you get discounts on your next order. It is my small way of ensuring that our skincare rituals do not leave a trail of plastic waste behind.
The Story Behind 'Ren'
I chose the name 'Ren' because it means purity, rebirth, and renewal. These are the values I pour into every bottle. My approach to skincare is the opposite of the trend-chasing beauty industry. I believe that consistency is the only secret to healthy skin. When I formulate, I look at what our grandmothers used—simple ingredients like Kasturi Manjal or basic plant extracts—and combine them with modern knowledge for real, effective results.
Why I Keep It Small and Handmade
Everything you see here is made by me in my Mulund studio. I do not use machines for mass production. This small-batch process ensures that every soap, oil, and mist is prepared with intention. I am involved in every step, from selecting the herbs to hand-labeling the bottles. This allows me to keep the ingredient list clean, honest, and entirely free from harsh chemicals or alcohol.
My Commitment to the Earth
Beauty shouldn't cost the planet. I know that as a small business, I have a responsibility to reduce waste. This is why I started my bottle recycling initiative. Whether you are using my therapeutic salt soaks or my fabric fresheners, you are participating in a cycle that respects nature. If you ever have questions about why I choose specific herbs like Basil for acne or Aloe for hydration, just reach out. I love talking about the 'why' behind my products because an informed choice is always the best choice.
