Little Fingers: Early Music Program for Kids
A play-based introduction to music for 3 to 5-year-olds. We combine fun games, movement, and hands-on instrument exploration to help your little one find their rhythm.
A joyful moment from our Little Fingers program! Here, children aged 3 to 5 discover music together with their teacher, Miss Awon, exploring percussion instruments in a fun, supportive group setting.
Learning finger numbers is a game at our academy. Watch as one of our young students rolls a giant dice to see which finger to use on the keyboard, turning a fundamental piano skill into a fun challenge.
It's all about rhythm and teamwork in this group percussion session. Our students learn to keep time and listen to each other while having a blast with bongos and xylophones.
Meet Emah, one of our wonderful young pianists. In this short chat, she shares what she loves about her music classes, from making friends to our fun teaching methods like the 'tiger claw' for hand posture.
Quiet focus during creative time. Our early childhood music program includes activities like coloring musical worksheets, which helps reinforce concepts and develop fine motor skills.
Music class is where new friendships blossom. We are so proud to see our students connect and grow together, building a wonderful little community right here at the academy.

About Featured
Music for toddlers isn't about dry theory. In our Saturday sessions, Miss Awon uses interactive games—like rolling giant dice to learn finger numbers—and teaches foundational techniques like the 'Tiger Claw' to build proper posture from day one, all within a safe, colourful environment.
At Lydian Music Academy, we believe the best way for a 3 to 5-year-old to learn is through play. Our 'Little Fingers' program moves away from rigid, one-size-fits-all lessons, focusing instead on building a lifelong connection with music.
The Lydian Early Learning Approach
We know young children learn best when they are active and engaged. Our 60-minute Saturday sessions are designed to be dynamic and sensory-rich:
- Movement & Rhythm: We start by internalizing the beat through dance, group games, and marching.
- Instrument Rotation: Instead of sticking to one instrument, kids rotate through digital pianos, xylophones, and full-sized drum kits. This allows them to explore textures and sounds firsthand.
- Foundational Technique: We introduce core concepts like finger numbering and posture using child-friendly metaphors like the 'Tiger Claw' (to keep hands curved) and musical colouring worksheets.
What to Expect
The classes are capped at 4-8 children, ensuring that every child gets the attention they need. We view parents as partners, so we share tips on how to keep the musical exploration going at home. Whether your child is just curious or ready to start their formal training, this program provides a gentle, encouraging runway into the world of music.
Classes are held every Saturday at our Safdarjung Enclave studio. If you are unsure, we always encourage a demo session to see how your child settles in with our tribe.
