I know that for newborns and toddlers, everything goes straight into the mouth or gets rubbed against sensitive skin. That is why I strictly use Oeko-Tex certified, baby-soft, hypoallergenic acrylic or cotton blend yarns. My amigurumi toys, like the blue dinosaurs or baby bunnies, are stuffed tightly to ensure shape retention and safety, with eyes either embroidered or secured with heavy-duty washers so there are no loose parts.
