Creative DIY STEM Projects and Kits for Kids
From medieval trebuchets to rubber-powered cars, we build it all. See how your child turns simple materials into working machines at our North Bangalore lab.
We even explore historical engineering with kits like this medieval trebuchet. It is a fantastic way to learn about physics and history at the same time.
A table full of young innovators working on various projects, from painting models to assembling kits. There is always something new to create.
A young girl begins assembling a catapult, one of our many DIY engineering kits that teach physics principles.
From cutting paper for stomp rockets to building wooden robots, our workshops are full of diverse, hands-on activities.
This young camper is proud of the rubber-powered car he built during our Dasara camp.
This happy camper is showing off her completed project from our workshop at Knowledge Origin.
We also take our workshops on the road! Here we are at Aptiv, where kids built sail cars as part of the company's 25th-anniversary celebrations.
About this collection
It is one thing to read about physics in a textbook, and another to launch a projectile from a trebuchet you built with your own hands. In this cluster, we showcase the unique projects that don’t fit into a standard robotics or coding curriculum, like our sail cars, kaleidoscopes, and hydraulic arms. Every model here is designed to teach a specific engineering principle, and the best part is that your child takes their creation home to show off what they learned.
Our Maker Space in Vidyaranyapura isn't a classroom, so we don't just stick to the basics. While we love our robotics and coding tracks, we know that some of the best learning happens when kids play with mechanics, geometry, and simple materials.
Why these projects matter
Many of these kits are designed to show how everyday engineering works. When a child builds a sail car, they are actually learning about aerodynamics and friction. When they assemble a trebuchet, they are looking at leverage and tension. We use real tools like C-clamps and sandpaper because we trust kids to handle them safely.
What to expect
Each project kit is prepared with safety in mind. Whether it is a wooden structure or a paper-based aeromodelling model, we provide all the raw materials like MDF panels, Balsa wood, and specialized connectors. We keep our batches small, so if your child gets stuck on a tricky step, we are right there to help them figure out the solution. They leave our workshop with a fully functional gadget and, more importantly, the confidence that they can build things from scratch.
Little Wings Innovation Labs
Hi, I am Rahul. My buddy Daniel and I started this space because we were the kids who needed to take toys apart to understand how they worked. We built this lab in North Bangalore so your child has a safe place to use real tools, make a mess, fix it, and eventually succeed.
