Hands-on STEM Workshops for Young Innovators
See the focus, pride, and creativity of our young makers as they build, paint, and launch their own creations in our North Bangalore lab.
A look inside our dedicated lab where kids are having a blast at our summer camp. The smiles and waves say it all!
A montage of our "little engineers" in action, from building solar systems to using saws. Each clip shows a child learning, creating, and feeling proud.
This video celebrates our "little engineers" as they work on various projects, showing their focus and determination.
Another tribute to our "little engineers," this video shows a student working on complex models and proudly displaying his finished projects.
From getting painting tips to showing off a finished car, this "little engineer" montage captures the full workshop experience.
This video highlights some of our younger "little engineers" as they build and paint their models with intense focus and creativity.
A "little engineer" at our lab, this girl is shown learning to use a variety of tools, from saws to screwdrivers, building skills for life.
About this collection
Safety is our priority here. Before starting any project, we suit up in goggles and gloves to learn the proper way to handle real tools like saws, sanders, and hand drills. It is not just about finishing a model; it is about learning to respect the gear, measure twice, and cut once under our close, one-on-one supervision.
Our Maker Space Approach
We created this lab because we believe kids learn better when they stop watching and start making. Whether it is a weekend DIY session or a full holiday camp, the goal is to move from passive learning to active creation. We avoid boring theory, opting instead for a 'maker space' environment where kids get their hands dirty and build things that actually work.
The Skills We Build
Our workshops cover a broad range of engineering and creative fields:
- Woodworking: Kids learn carpentry basics, from measuring to using saws, creating everything from wooden puppets to birdhouses.
- Aeromodeling: We teach the science of flight through building and painting gliders, fighter jets, and stomp rockets.
- Mechanical Engineering: Through models like catapults and trebuchets, kids grasp physics concepts like force, motion, and energy.
- Robotics & Electronics: For older students, we introduce circuit completion, motors, and the basics of building a robot from scratch.
Why It Matters
We see kids arrive shy and leave confident. There is a specific moment when a child finishes a project they built with their own two hands—like a fully functional rubber-band racer—where their posture changes. They realize they can solve problems, fix mistakes, and create value. It is this boost in confidence, alongside the technical skills of using real tools, that makes our sessions in Vidyaranyapura so rewarding for us and our young engineers.
Little Wings Innovation Labs
I am Rahul, and I started this lab because I was the kid who needed to break things to understand how they work. Along with my friend Daniel, we have created a space where kids stop listening to lectures and start building, using real tools they might have thought were only for adults.
