Majestic Encounters: Big Cat and Mammal Wildlife Photography
Capturing the power of big cats is not about luck. It is about spending hours in silence, blending into the surroundings of our rocky outskirts, and waiting for that one heartbeat of a moment.
About this collection
If you are looking for that perfect shot of a leopard or a Nilgai, understand that this takes patience. I do not just point and shoot, I track, wait, and often trek through rugged terrain to get the right angle without disturbing the animal. Most of these photos were taken using my Nikon D3500 with a 300mm lens, keeping enough distance to stay safe while getting the detail you see here.
Wildlife photography in Bengaluru is a game of quiet observation. Whether I am trekking through the rocky trails of Ramanagara or exploring the forest edges near Turahalli, the goal is always to respect the habitat. These big cat and mammal encounters are never guaranteed, which makes the result even more special.
When I am out on a wilderness expedition, the process starts long before I raise my camera. It involves understanding the behavior of animals like the rock agama, the elusive leopard, or the Nilgai. I prefer the 300mm lens to capture these animals in their natural environment without encroaching on their space.
Post-processing is the second half of the battle. After the shoot, I spend hours on my laptop, color grading, sharpening, and removing urban distractions. That is how I turn a raw, rugged image into a story. If you want to join me on an expedition or are looking for a specific wildlife portrait, reach out and let's plan the trip.
Lalith
I am Lalith. For me, catching a leopard on my lens is not just about the click, it is about the stillness in the woods and the early morning rides to get there. My camera is my compass and I am always ready to head out into the wild.
