Krav Maga in the News: Expert Analysis
When news channels want to understand real-world self-defense, they turn to me. Here is a look at my media features where I break down the science of survival.
I had the opportunity to speak with Aaj Tak about the practical applications of Krav Maga. In this interview, I explain in Hindi why this system is so effective and how it is constantly evolving based on real-world experience.
About this collection
In my recent Aaj Tak interview, I explain why Krav Maga is a constantly evolving science rather than a static martial art. Unlike boxing or wrestling where you compete under rules, I teach how to handle unpredictable street threats like armed attackers and multiple opponents. Watch to understand why I emphasize that Krav Maga is about adapting to the real-world scenarios soldiers face, not just sport-based training.
My approach to self-defense often draws media attention because it challenges the traditional view of martial arts. People are used to seeing sports, but Krav Maga is a survival system that originated from war-like situations and high-stress environments.
Why This System Matters
In my interviews, I stress that this isn't about points or referees. When a threat appears on the street, there is no one there to stop the clock. My training—honed by former IDF and Mossad instructors—focuses on:
- Real-World Adaptation: The techniques I teach are not set in stone. They change every year based on data from active conflict zones. If a technique fails in a real encounter, we discard or improve it.
- Closing the Gap: Whether it is a knife attack or a multiple-person brawl, I teach civilians the same techniques used in close-quarter battle (CQB). This includes vital point striking and technical stand-ups that allow smaller individuals to neutralize much larger, aggressive opponents.
- Mindset: Many people freeze when they are attacked. My classes, and the logic I explain in my features, focus on breaking that mental block. You must believe you are worth protecting before you can physically defend yourself.
