I love turning simple materials like coir and pinewood into cozy homes for our feathered friends. Whether you want a natural nest for your balcony or a brightly painted house for your garden, let’s find a little spot for nature in your home.

This is a new design for my handmade bird nests. This one is shaped like a little hut and is made from natural coir, providing a safe and cosy home for small birds.

This summer, give your birds an amazing home. This is a wooden birdhouse that I've custom-painted in a bright teal and white, with a 'Dream Big' sign to add a touch of inspiration.

I'm so happy to collaborate with Kuhu, a brilliant young artist who helps me by colouring the wooden bird nests for my projects. It's wonderful to see her creativity and passion.

A classic, teardrop-shaped coir bird nest. These are eco-friendly, durable, and provide great shelter for birds. The little decorative birds show how cute they look when hung in a garden.

This is a two-tiered hanging bird nest, also made from natural coir. It's a fun design that can accommodate a couple of bird families and adds a lovely decorative element to your balcony.

I was so happy to receive this video from a client in Mumbai. It shows how much they are enjoying the coir bird nest they purchased from me. Seeing my products loved and used is the best feeling.

A beautiful shot of one of my wooden birdhouses nestled amongst the green leaves of a creeper. It looks like a perfect little summer home for the birds.

About For the Love of Birds

When choosing between coir and wood, think about where you want to place it. My coir nests are perfect for hanging in protected, semi-outdoor spots where they offer a soft, natural shelter, while the wooden houses are more durable and weather-resistant for open garden areas.

Bringing birds into your urban space isn't just about decoration, it is about creating a tiny sanctuary. I handcraft these birdhouses and nests because I believe every balcony, no matter how small, deserves a touch of nature.

My coir nests are woven from natural fibers, giving birds a safe, breathable environment that mimics the wild. They are light, eco-friendly, and fit beautifully among hanging plants. For those who want something with more structure, my wooden birdhouses are the go-to. I use pinewood, which is sturdy and holds up well against the elements. I personally paint these in bright, cheerful colours like teal and white, often adding little hand-lettered quotes to make them feel like a piece of art rather than just a structure.

One of my favourite parts of this project is collaborating with young artists like Kuhu, who helps bring these wooden houses to life with vibrant colours. It is a wonderful way to teach the next generation about the joy of handmade crafts and the importance of caring for our local wildlife.

Placement is everything. If you are in Bangalore, we can discuss the best corner of your balcony or garden to hang these. For those outside the city, these pieces are designed to be easy to mount and maintain. Whether you want a simple teardrop nest or a quirky two-tiered birdhouse, these pieces bring a bit of 'sukoon' to your mornings when you hear those little chirps. Let me know if you need specific advice on where to place yours to welcome the local birds.
