Let's make these pretty macrame earrings. This tutorial shows how to create a new design of braided hoop earrings, an easy project for macrame beginners.

About this collection

One thing to know about these macrame earrings is how lightweight they actually are. Even when I use wooden bases or larger hoops, I keep the cord tension just right so they do not pull on your ears, making them comfortable to wear all day long. If you are looking for a specific color to match a lehenga or a casual dress, we can definitely pick a shade from my collection of 30+ cotton cords.

Why macrame jewelry? It is light, sustainable, and entirely personal. I started Knotanaffair because I wanted to show that boho style is not just for home decor; it belongs in your jewelry box too.

The Process & Materials

I work primarily with 1mm to 4mm soft cotton cords. For the hoops and wooden-based earrings you see here, I use a combination of lark's head knots and spiral knots. The spiral knots, in particular, give that lovely textured look that feels very organic. These are not mass-produced, so you will notice the subtle variations that make handmade pieces special.

Customization for Your Event

This is the heart of my work. You might spot a pair of sage green hoops in the gallery, but if you want that same pattern in mustard yellow or deep maroon to match your festive outfit, we can do it. I offer custom and bulk orders for wedding favours, bridesmaid gifts, or mehendi return gifts. Because I handle everything from the initial design to the final knot, I can work with you to ensure the colors and styles match your specific theme.

Caring for Your Macrame

Since these are cotton, they are durable. If they get a little dusty or lose their shape from being tossed in a bag, a quick comb-through with a fine-tooth comb is all it takes to bring the fringe back to life. It is the easiest way to keep your boho accessories looking fresh.
