About Welcoming Entrances & Home Decor
When I build a 'Chapara' entrance, I am working with live, organic materials—fresh coconut leaves, banana trunks, and marigolds. This is not just about the look; it is about the traditional 'Hase' ritual that brings an authentic, festive energy to your doorstep before the ceremony even begins.
I believe the entrance is the most important part of your event decor—it is where your guests get their very first impression. My team and I specialize in the traditional South Indian 'Hase' and 'Chapara' structures. We construct these using sturdy bamboo frames, hand-weaving fresh green coconut leaves into intricate geometric patterns. Depending on the theme, I integrate bunches of paddy stalks (Nelagathira), whole fruits, and cascading flower garlands to make it pop.
For modern homes or smaller wedding functions, I often pivot to lighter, elegant floral doorway frames using combinations of Dutch roses, jasmine, and traditional marigolds. Whether you want a grand walkway for a venue or a cozy, festive feel for your home entrance, I keep the setup practical and weather-resistant. We handle the structure, the weaving, and the lighting so you do not have to worry about the logistics. If you have a specific color theme or want to incorporate traditional motifs like elephants or Kalash into the leaf weaving, just let me know when we chat.
