About this collection
I build these structures using authentic, hand-woven coconut leaves and fresh marigolds, ensuring they are sturdy enough for outdoor conditions. Whether you have a tight residential gate or a large venue entrance, I adapt the bamboo frame and leaf pattern to fit the available space without compromising the traditional look.
When you choose a traditional Chapra, you are choosing a structure that connects your event to time-honored rituals. I hand-weave fresh green coconut leaves into intricate diamond or mat patterns, creating a canopy that is both visually striking and culturally significant.
My Approach to Entrance Decor
I offer several styles to match the scale of your occasion:
- Simple Chapra: Ideal for home entrances, using a standard bamboo frame and minimal floral accents.
- Step Chapra: A multi-layered roof design that provides more grandeur, perfect for wedding ceremonies or large home events.
- Box Pillar Chapra: A sturdier, structural approach that allows for additional decorative elements like hanging bells or dense floral borders.
Materials & Craft
Every setup includes fresh banana stems tied to the main pillars, a hallmark of traditional auspicious decor. I border these structures with thick garlands of fresh marigolds and rose strings, ensuring they stay vibrant throughout your event. Because these are built on-site, I can adjust the width of the frame to fit the specific gate dimensions of your home or venue in Bengaluru. If you have specific floral color preferences, I can incorporate them into the torans to match your overall theme.
