About Outdoor & Nature-Inspired Shoots
Outdoor maternity sessions in Shimla are truly special, but they do require a bit of planning. The light in our local pine forests shifts quickly, so I recommend scheduling your shoot for the golden hour, either early in the morning or just before sunset, to get that soft, ethereal glow without harsh shadows.
There is something unique about shooting outdoors in Himachal. It brings a raw, authentic feeling to your pregnancy photos that a studio setup simply cannot replicate. When we head out to locations like the quiet pine groves or open meadows around Shimla, we are not just taking pictures, we are capturing the serenity of this phase of your life.
Preparing for your outdoor shoot
If you are worried about the terrain, do not be. I pick locations that are easily accessible and comfortable, even when you are further along in your pregnancy. We can focus on gentle walks, sitting in the grass, or finding a beautiful view where you can stand and breathe in the mountain air. I always suggest bringing a pair of comfortable flats for walking, which you can swap for your heels or go barefoot once we reach the exact spot.
Hybrid sessions for the best of both worlds
Many moms-to-be struggle to choose between the comfort of my Malyana studio and the beauty of the outdoors. You do not have to pick one. My Signature Family Experience allows us to split the time. We can start with a few polished, formal looks in the studio with my gowns and props, then head out to a nearby forest clearing for those natural, candid moments.
