About Hands-On Workshop: Learning by Doing
You will not find traditional lecture halls here. Our classrooms are active workshops where you learn by doing, whether that means adjusting sewing machine tension for the first time or learning to draft patterns on brown paper. Bring your own fabric, scissors, and chalk, because you will be stitching, cutting, and creating your own designs from your very first session.
Our approach is simple: we believe that skills are built through practice, not just books. In these workshops, we guide you through the entire lifecycle of garment construction.
We start with the basics of pattern making and measurement, ensuring you understand how to draft on brown paper before you touch the fabric. From there, you move to machine mastery, where you learn the maintenance and operation of motorized sewing machines. You will work on everything from basic A-line frocks to complex, lined blouses, giving you the versatility needed for a career in fashion design.
Beyond basic construction, we teach the small details that make a design look professional. This includes hand-work like hemming, hook and eye attachment, and creating 'latkans' (tassels) from waste fabric to add a personal touch. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your technical skills, our instructors provide feedback on your work in real time. We operate daily practical sessions, keeping the environment focused and productive so you can build a strong portfolio for future work or your own boutique.
